The XI International Petrozavodsk Conference “Probabilistic Methods in Discrete Mathematics” is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of V.F. Kolchin. The conference “Probabilistic Methods in Discrete Mathematics” is regular and will be held for the eleventh time in 2024. The first one took place in 1983 and had all-Union status, then starting with the third (1992) it became international. At the origins of the conference were outstanding mathematicians: Academician of the USSR Academy of Sciences Yu.V. Prokhorov, corresponding member of USSR Academy of Sciences and member of the Presidium of the Karelian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences V.Ya. Kozlov, corresponding member of RAS B.A. Sevastyanov. The main organizer and leader was Professor V.F. Kolchin, whose 90th birthday the conference will be dedicated to.

The purpose of the conference is the development of modern probabilistic methods of discrete mathematics. It is planned that review talks will be presented at the conference, covering the main areas of V.F. Kolchin’s research and the influence of his results on the development of the theory of random mappings and random graphs. The conference will highlight the latest advances in the theory of random graphs and hypergraphs, the theory of branching processes, probabilistic combinatorics, game theory and stochastic optimization, statistical modeling and simulation.

The event is supported by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation (the grant to the Steklov International Mathematical Center, agreement no. 075-15-2022-265) and by the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
